FGC IN THE MINERAL INDUSTRY

INTRODUCTORY STATEMENT

Richard Forrest
Checking samples - Base Metal drilling, South East Queensland.

At FGC we believe that the best chance of success in mineral exploration and the most cost effective, occurs when a significant field based component is included in the exploration budget. Over the last decade, exploration costs have risen dramatically without a corresponding increase in the number of ore bodies located. This reflects the modern paradigm that expensive high technology alone is sufficient to locate ore bodies and that the much less expensive collection of basic field geological data, analysed by the creative mind of an experienced geologist, are no longer necessary. In contrast to this, our philosophy is that success is more likely to occur when extensive field investigations are integrated with the wonderful tools modern technology has to offer.

EXPERTISE

Richard Forrest
Safety-conscious field assistant writing up sample bags.

Although we have worked on exploration projects for a wide variety of mineral commodities, our main expertise lies in the following styles of mineralisation:

  • Related lode gold/porphyry molybdenum deposits - Eastern Australia
  • Porphyry copper/gold/molybdenum deposits - Eastern Australia and Papua New Guinea
  • Lode gold/antimony deposits- North Queensland

SERVICES

Selecting Samples for Gold Analysis.

Target Generation

Our knowledge of the above mineralisation styles qualifies us to carry out reviews of available geological literature to delineate area with potential.

Field Services

  • Exploration project management
  • Geological mapping
  • Air photo interpretation
  • Rock sampling
  • Drill supervision
  • Drill core logging
